Overview
The AI Assistant is the primary surface of Irys One — your always-on legal copilot that understands your matters, documents, and practice context.
The AI Assistant is the central hub of Irys One. Every time you open the platform at core.iqidis.ai, the Assistant greets you by name and is ready to help with anything from a quick contract question to a multi-source deep research memo.
What You See
Personalized Greeting
The Assistant opens with a personalized greeting that includes your name and a contextual prompt to get you started. If you are inside a Matter, the greeting reflects the matter context so the AI is already primed with your documents.
Input Bar
The input bar at the bottom of the screen is where you interact with the Assistant. You can:
Type a question or instruction in natural language.
Use voice input by clicking the microphone icon and speaking your query.
Attach files by clicking the paperclip icon or dragging files directly into the input area. Supported formats include PDF, DOCX, TXT, and images.
File Upload Area
Above the input bar, a drag-and-drop zone lets you upload one or more documents for immediate analysis. Uploaded files are processed in real time and become part of the conversation context.
Model Selector
A toggle next to the input bar lets you choose between two AI models:
Irys Everyday
Quick tasks — summarizing a clause, answering a straightforward question, generating short text. Fast responses.
Irys Advanced
Complex analysis — multi-document review, nuanced legal reasoning, detailed memos. Deeper thinking, slightly longer response times.
Switch models at any time, even mid-conversation.
Quick Actions
Below the input bar, a row of pill-shaped shortcut buttons gives you one-click access to common workflows such as drafting an NDA, generating a contract, or summarizing a legal brief. You can customize which Quick Actions appear by clicking the edit pencil icon.
Quick Actions are fully customizable. Add, remove, or reorder them to match the tasks you perform most often. See Quick Actions for details.
Research Tiers
When you ask a question, you can select one of three research tiers that control how deeply the AI searches for information:
Base — Answers from the AI's knowledge and your uploaded documents. No external searches. Fastest responses.
Research — Searches the Irys database and case law sources like CourtListener in addition to your documents. Cited answers.
Deep Research — Produces memo-quality reports drawing from internal documents, case law, web sources, and statutes with 15+ inline citations.

Matter-Aware Context
When you open the AI Assistant from within a Matter, the AI automatically has access to every document in that matter. You do not need to re-upload files that are already part of the matter's document library. Ask questions like "What are the indemnification obligations across all vendor contracts?" and the Assistant will search across all matter documents to produce a grounded, citation-backed answer.
Tip: For the most accurate answers, work inside a Matter so the AI can draw on your full document set rather than individual uploads.
